Step 1: Be sure to communicate with your guest well in advance of the party. If a guest has a seafood allergy, make sure everyone knows that there are guests with a seafood allergy. It doesn’t mean a guest can’t bring a dish with seafood in it, but it helps everyone to be more aware.

Step 2: Ask those bringing dishes to clearly label their dish and to list any known allergens in it (Contains gluten and peanuts, for example)

Step 3: Once you know the basic menu and what others are bringing, fill in any big gaps. For instance, if there are no egg-free desserts and you know someone has an egg allergy, there are quick recipes for a no-bake cheesecake or these chocolate truffles that will please EVERYONE at your party!
