This time of year we’re all on the hunt for great gifts for those hosting parties, for our kids’ teachers, and even for those neighbors or co-workers we cherish as friends. It’s no surprise that, for many, these gifts include things like candles, chocolate or sweets, and even plants. However, the scents from candles, particular ingredients in sweets, and pollen in plants can all cause problems for your gift recipients.

Instead of those, we’ve got a list of ten allergy-friendly gift ideas for the holidays.

  1. Artisan or pretty decorative note cards or note pads are always a great gift. No one will run out of notes to send or to-do lists to create!
  2. An outdoor gift like a pretty bird feeder is a unique option that offers lots of styles, price ranges, etc.
  3. A gift basket with coffee and teas is allergy safe and can be customized in lots of ways, from picking your own teas, coffees, a basket, etc., to find one already put together at a local store.
  4. Decorative dish towels for the holidays are always a fun option.
  5. A book of local recipes or a local coffee table style book can be a nice addition for someone, especially if you know a little more about them and can choose something that you know they’re interested in.
  6. For teachers, gift cards to coffee shops or places to buy school supplies are always welcome.
  7. A beautiful scarf from a local shop
  8. A set of decorative coasters is never a bad idea
  9. Fun mini-crafts like pocket watercolor kits or mini crochet kits
  10. Fabulous and fun socks
